The Pier 15 Elopement of Louise & Jay | An East River Esplanade Wedding

The Pier 15 Elopement of Louise & Jay. Love knows no boundaries and sometimes it takes you to new and exciting places. Just like it did for Louise and Jay, who traveled from Scotland to New York City to elope. As a New York wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing their special day and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience.

Louise and Jay wanted a unique and intimate wedding. Something that would be different from the traditional Scottish wedding. They chose to elope in New York City, a place that had always been on their bucket list. And they couldn’t have picked a better spot than the East River Esplanade for their nuptials.

As a photographer, I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting locations to capture stunning wedding photos. And I must say, Pier 15 was a hidden gem that I had never shot before. The stunning backdrop of the majestic Brooklyn Bridge in the distance made for a breathtaking view. And the location was perfect for the intimate wedding ceremony that Louise and Jay had in mind.

Jackie performed a beautiful ceremony that was filled with love and emotion. As Louise and Jay exchanged their vows, the city skyline and the East River provided the perfect backdrop, making it an incredibly romantic setting.

Pier 15 is a hidden gem that offers breathtaking views of the city skyline.

After the ceremony, we took a walk through the south part of Manhattan. We captured beautiful moments against the backdrop of the brand new Oculus and unique wall murals. It was a delightful experience as we explored the city’s vibrant streets, capturing the love and happiness that surrounded the newlyweds.

As a New York wedding photographer, I’ve captured many beautiful moments, but Louise and Jay’s elopement at Pier 15 is one that will always hold a special place in my heart. It was an honor to be part of their intimate wedding day and capture memories that they will cherish for a lifetime.

If you’re looking for a unique and intimate wedding location in NYC, the East River Esplanade at Pier 15 is definitely worth considering. It’s a hidden gem that offers a breathtaking view of the city skyline. It is perfect for an intimate wedding ceremony. And if you’re looking for a New York wedding photographer to capture your special day, I’d be honored to be a part of it.

Okay, I need a FAVOR… a BIG one!!

Next year the World Cup will be held right here in the U.S. 8 games will be played in front of my house at MetLife Stadium.

Here’s the thing: this week only, the lottery opened for World Cup tickets. You can register for free to maybe get the chance to buy tickets. The lottery will close this Friday (October 31). The odds are long…like “hole-in-one in a hurricane” long.

So, dear friends, family...past and future couples, if you are not planning to go to the World Cup, I have one humble request:

👉 Please throw your name into the lottery for me. https://www.fifa.com

It costs nothing to register, and if by some miracle you get selected, I’ll 100% pay for the tickets (no questions asked, no money out of your pocket).

I’ve photographed over 1,200 weddings…I’ve climbed rooftops and bridges, and made small miracles happen…but I’ve never seen a World Cup game in my life. And next year, it’s happening 10 minutes from my house!

So, help a soccer-obsessed photographer live his dream. ⚽️
https://www.fifa.com

Put your name in the hat, and maybe together we can beat the odds! But remember, the lottery will close this Friday (October 31). So no time to waste!

(DM me if you register and I’ll send good karma and eternal gratitude your way.)

20 years!!
7,305 days.
175,320 hours.
10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

If you made it to the end of this post, tell us how we know and met you. Because guess what…you are part of our story too. And we want to hear about it. Thank you for being an integral part of Team Reinking.

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂
