My Proposal Story

Malibu | 2005

Baltic Sea | 2018
Once, when we were dating, Jackie asked me how much I loved her. From my heart I answered, “to the moon and back.” Little by little, as our relationship deepened, the answer would change. “I love you three times to the moon and back”, I would say. “I love you four times to the moon and back!”
In a few months, Jackie wanted to know how much I would need to love her to marry her. Without thinking I answered, “85 times to the moon & back.”
From that moment on when she asked me how much I loved her, the number would increase by leaps and bounds: “I love you 12 times to the moon and back!” “I love you 23 times to the moon and back!” “38!” “44!” “70 times to the moon and back!”
In August 2004, I flew out to visit Jackie in Los Angeles, where she was working for a couple of weeks. After a lovely day together we ate dinner at a quirky restaurant on the beach in Malibu. We decided to take a stroll along the water and ended up on a blanket watching the sun set over the ocean. As Jackie kept her eyes on the sky, I snuck out a small glass bottle with a message I’d written inside and hid it in the wet sand. With a little help from me, she stumbled across the bottle moments later. “Look, honey!” I said innocently, “It’s a message in a bottle!” Curious, Jackie picked the bottle up, uncorked it, and pulled out the scroll. As she read the message tears sprung to her eyes. It said:
By the time she looked up, I was on my knee holding the ring. I asked her to marry me. Jackie fell in to my arms and said yes. We were married on November 3rd, 2006.
To this day, I still tell my wife I love her eighty-five times to the moon and back. And now I get to tell our little daughter Lucy that I love her 85 times to the moon & back as well.
That’s our story. I’d love to hear yours!

One of my favorite things about photographing NYC elopements is how quickly the city changes the mood. One minute you are tucked away in Central Park, the next you are standing in the middle of Manhattan with yellow cabs, buses, crosswalks, and skyscrapers all around you. Maria & Timo made it look effortless.

We are so honored to be featured in Bold Journey Magazine! In this interview, we got real about who we are behind the scenes (hint: we’re puzzling like we’re 80 and gossiping about The Traitors).
We also talked about our journey building our business, why we never want to hide behind a fake online persona, and what it really takes to capture candid, honest moments for our incredible couples. If you’re planning an NYC elopement, who says you have to stick to just one vibe? 🤫
Capturing Kaitlyn & Mike’s wedding day was the absolute best of both worlds. We started with a timeless, romantic Central Park wedding ceremony, surrounded by the classic stone architecture and greenery. But to bring in that modern, industrial contrast? We wrapped up their photo session across the river at Domino Park in Williamsburg.
As an NYC elopement photographer, I always tell my couples that your timeline should reflect your style. Mixing the elegance of Manhattan with the gritty textures and skyline views of Brooklyn gave them a wedding gallery that feels effortlessly cool and uniquely New York.

Meryl and John had the ultimate full-circle moment, eloping at The Met - right where they had their very first date.
Getting to this moment may or may not have required a bit of secret-agent-level planning 🤫, but looking at this stunning, timeless photo, it was so worth it. They are practically part of the museum now!
To many more dates and a lifetime of love. 🥂✨

How do you know you *really* hit it off with your wedding couple? When you find yourselves playing a round of golf together two days after they say “I do”…right in the middle of their NYC honeymoon! 😂⛳️
Leigh & Gemma flew in from the UK to tie the knot, and from our very first video call, we knew they were our kind of people. By the time we met on the big day, it felt exactly like reuniting with old friends.
We knew we were truly meant for each other when we spent the entire time together quoting *Step Brothers*. (“Did we just become best friends? YEP!”) 🚁🥁
After hitting the greens, we brought them back to our house to treat them to some traditional, old-school cheesesteak sandwiches to cap off an epic day.
So honored to be part of your beautiful NYC love story. Cheers, guys! 🇬🇧🚕🥪🥂
