Melina & Janik’s Wedding in Dumbo | An Elopement in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Melina and Janik’s journey to New York City from Germany was a long one, but their goal made every mile worth it. The couple had decided to elope in the Big Apple and have their ceremony in the picturesque neighborhood of Dumbo. The perfect location for Melina and Janik’s romantic Brooklyn Bridge Park elopement. On the day of their ceremony, Melina and Janik arrived at the ceremony site with anticipation and excitement written all over their faces. Jackie led the couple through their vows, and after a beautiful ceremony, they were officially married.

The newlyweds then set off for a stroll around the Brooklyn Bridge Park, taking advantage of the stunning scenery for their first photos as a married couple. The park, with its industrial feel and views of the Manhattan skyline, served as an idyllic backdrop for the couple’s wedding photographs. Afterwards the couple made their way to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Walking hand in hand, they enjoyed the stunning bridge. The sweeping views of the city and its grand architecture, served as the perfect backdrop for some last photos of Melina and Janik.

A perfect blend of romance and adventure.

German:

20 years!!
7,305 days.
175,320 hours.
10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

If you made it to the end of this post, tell us how we know and met you. Because guess what…you are part of our story too. And we want to hear about it. Thank you for being an integral part of Team Reinking.

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂
