The ‘Treehouse for Dreaming’ Elopement of Steph & Adam | A Dene Summerhouse Wedding

This is the ‘Treehouse for Dreaming’ elopement of Steph & Adam. And talk about a cold winter day! You might not be able to see it from the photos but it was freezing cold in NYC that day. But Steph and Adam handled the weather like champs. We met up at their hotel for some ‘getting ready’ shots before we made our way to Central Park. These two had picked the Dene Summerhouse for their ceremony location. Afterwards we got driven around the city by Peter in his beautiful checker cab. We stopped at Grand Central and Times Square for some additional photos before we said our goodbyes. Steph & Adam, thank you for letting me capture this day for you. A ‘Treehouse for Dreaming’ elopement, what an amazing idea.

Dies ist die ‘Dene Summerhouse’ Hochzeit von Steph & Adam. Allerdings hatte der Tag mit ‘summer’ nichts zu tun. Es war tierisch kalt als sich Steph und Adam das Ja-Wort im Central Park gaben. Als Trauert hatten die Zwei sich das ‘Treehouse for Dreaming’ ausgesucht. Anschliessend ging es dann mit dem Checke Cab kreis und quer durch New York. Fotos machten win in der Grand Central und auf dem Times Square bevor wir uns verabschiedeten. Steph und Adam, vielen Dank, dass ich diesen Tag mit euch verbringen durfte.

175,320 hours.
10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement. Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest. Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂
