The Gapstow Bridge Wedding of Ashley & Michael | A Central Park Elopement

English:
This is the Gapstow Bridge Wedding of Ashley & Michael. I met Ashley (the bride) at the Dream Hotel in Midtown where Ashley (the stylist) were putting on the finishing touches. After a quick ‘first look’ with Michael we were off to Central Park where Jackie was waiting for us. Jackie performed a beautiful ceremony with the Gapstow Bridge and the New York skyline in the background. After their ‘I Dos’ we stayed a bit in Central Park before we jumped on the subway to SoHo. The old cobble stone streets and graffiti walls made for an amazing background. This was such a special day. Thank you Ashley and Michael for letting me share it with you.

20 years!!
7,305 days.
175,320 hours.
10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

If you made it to the end of this post, tell us how we know and met you. Because guess what…you are part of our story too. And we want to hear about it. Thank you for being an integral part of Team Reinking.

Couples always ask me what happens if it rains on their wedding day. And my answer always is: “Then we will have fun in the rain!!”. 🥰

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂
