The Top of the Rock Elopement of Carly & Luke | A Modern New York Wedding

This is the Top of the Rock Elopement of Carly & Luke. These two traveled from England to tie the knot high above the rooftops of New York City, at the Top of the Rock. Carly, Luke, Jackie and I hit it off right from the start. Not only because they were lovely and so very kind but also because one of them was as big of a Ghostbusters-Fan as I am. I’m not saying who it was…but it was Luke. It was Luke. So naturally, after the ceremony at the Top of the Rock, we stopped by the Ghostbusters HQ where they allowed us to take photos inside the working fire station. We then jumped into a cab and ended our time together in Brooklyn Bridge Park & the Dumbo area. Hands down, we had the best day with Carly & Luke.

Dies ist die “Top of the Rock Hochzeit” von Carly & Luke. Die Zwei kamen aus England um hoch über den Dächern von New York, auf dem Top of the Rock, den Bund der Ehe zu schließen. Carly, Luke, Jackie und ich haben uns sofort gut verstanden. Nicht nur weil die Zwei ein ganz liebenswertes Paar sind, sondern auch weil einer der beiden ein grosser Ghostbusters Fan ist. Ich kann nicht sagen wer von den beiden es war…aber es war Luke. Es war Luke. Und da blieb uns nichts anderes übrig als, nach der Trauung auf dem Top of the Rock, einen kleinen Abstecher zur Ghostbusters Firestation zu machen. Anschliessend ging es dann noch nach Brooklyn für ein paar letzte Fotos im Brooklyn Bridge Park und Dumbo.

And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement. Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot.
