The Zach Braff Photobomb. Yes…really!

The other day I photographed the sweetest couple from Germany. Verena and Michael already got married back home but they wanted their wedding photos taken during a vacation here in New York. So I took them on a tour around the city and we had a lot of fun shooting all over the place. Like most of my couples they asked me for one of my ‘famous’ street shots and so I put them right on 42nd street with Times Square in the background. Little did we know that we were about to get photobombed by no other than Zach Braff. The funny thing about this was that I didn’t even notice it until I started to edit the images earlier tonight! I scanned through the set and his face looked familiar. “Is that Zach Braff?” To find out I posted the photo on some of my Photographer Facebook Groups and the verdict was pretty clear. It definitely looked like Zach Braff had photobombed our session. But to be 100% sure I put the shot on my FACEBOOK PAGE and tweeted the image to Mr. Braff saying: “Sir, I think you photobombed my newlywed couple the other day in New York. :) Well played…”

I had no idea what would happen next and, to be honest, is still happening 3 hours later. Suddenly my phone started buzzing non-stop. When I checked my phone hundreds of retweets showed up. I checked Twitter and saw that ZACH BRAFF HIMSELF had tweeted the image to his 1.3 Million followers!! From that moment this photo went viral. 3 hours after I posted the shot it has been retweeted almost 4,000 times and shared a couple hundred times on Facebook. Next BUZZFEED picked it up and it got shared from there as well. And last but not least, even my beloved FSTOPPERS picked it up. Today I felt the love…

So…I will see where we are in the morning but that was quite an eventful evening. Who knew that this shot would get around so much. Well…here it is. Verena, Michael and Mr. Zach Braff, photobombing the shoot. :) Enjoy…

And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement. Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest. Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂
