The Housing Works Bookstore Wedding of Jade & David | A SoHo Elopement

This is the Housing Works Bookstore wedding of Jade & David. These two got married in a New York bookshop. How fun is that? They themed their wedding around their love of travel and decorated the tables with props of different countries. They had a peanut butter wedding cake from ‘Sweet Revenge’ which was so delicious! And Reverend D performed a fun and unique ceremony. But before they celebrated their union the three of us took photos around SoHo. Jade looked stunning in her ‘House of Mooshki’ dress and her ‘Charlotte Olympia’ shoes were just insane. David looked pretty sharp himself in his black & white jacket and a red bowtie to match Jade’s hair. What a fantastic day with these two newlyweds.

Dies ist die Hochzeit von Jade & David in dem ‘Housing Works’ Buchgeschäft. Die Zwei haben in einem Buchladen geheiratet. Wie cool ist das denn?! Die Hochzeitstorte von ‘Sweet Revenge’ war mit Erdnussbutter gemacht und ‘Reverend D’ führte eine ungewöhnlich spaßige Zeremonie durch. Bevor die Zwei feiern durften zogen wir aber erst mal für ein paar Fotos durch SoHo. Jade sah einfach fantastisch aus in ihrem ‘House of Mooshki’ Hochzeitskleid. Und die Schuhe von ‘Charlotte Olympia’ waren irre. David hatte eine schwarz-weisse Jacke an und eine rote Fliege die passend auf Jade’s Haare abgestimmt war. Was für ein toller Tag!!

10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️
