The Gantry Park Wedding of Alexa & Chris | Fifth Hammer Brewing Co. Elopement

This is the Gantry Park Wedding of Alexa & Chris. But before we get to the ceremony let me ask you this: How often does it happen that a bride asks me to start the photo shoot inside a working brewery? The answer: Almost never!! Therefore I was really excited when beer lovers and soon-to-be newlyweds Alexa and Chris asked me to meet them at Fifth Hammer Brewing Co. in Long Island City.Above all, the brewmaster was so kind to let us use their space for a behind-the-scenes shoot.

After that, Alexa & Chris tasted some of the beers in their custom made beer glasses we made our way over to the Gantry Park for a couple more photos before we met their families and friends for the ceremony. This was a lot of fun. In other words: I hope there will be lots more couples who want to hang out with me inside a brewery. I wouldn’t complain.

Dies ist Alexa & Chris’ Gantry Park Hochzeit in Queens. Wie oft passiert es, dass ein Paar ihren Fotoshoot in einer Brauerei anfangen möchte? So gut wie nie. Und daher freute ich mich wie ein Schneekönig als die Zwei mich fragten ob ich sie in der Ficht Hammer Brauerei hier in Long Island City, Queens treffen würde.Der Braumeister war sogar so nett und wir durften den “Braukeller” für unsere Fotos nutzen.

Alexa und Chris verköstigen einige der Biere in ihren angefertigten Gläsern bevor es dann in den Gantry Park für die eigentliche Trauung ging. Was für ein toller Hochzeitstag hier in New York. Auf Brauereihochzeiten hätte ich wohl häufiger Lust.

And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement. Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot.
