The elopement at the Cop Cot of Jacki & James | A Central Park Wedding

This is Jacki & James’ elopement at the Cop Cot. These two traveled from Minnesota to the Big Apple to get married in Central Park. I met Jacki & James at one of my favorite hotels in the city, the 1 Hotel Central Park. Kerry-Lou was getting Jacki ready for her big day which gave me time to photograph some of the details of the day. Together we walked over to the Cop Cot which was only one block away from the hotel. Jackie was waiting for us and performed a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony. After their vows we were off to take photos all over the city and endet our time together in the Gantry Park in LIC, Queens.

Die ist Jacki & James’ Hochzeit im Cop Cot. Die Zwei kamen aus Minnesota um sich hier im Central Park das Ja-Wort zu geben. Ich traf Jacki & James in einem meiner Lieblingshotels hier in der Stadt, das 1 Hotel Central Park. Kerry-Lou war noch am stylen was mit Zeit gab ein paar Details des Tages zu fotografieren. Zusammen schlenderten wir dann Richtung Cop Cot. Jackie wartete dort bereits um die Zweit in einer ganz tollen Zeremonie zu trauen. Anschliessend ging es dann auf eine Fototour quer durch die Stadt. Wir endeten unseren Tag mit Fotos im Gantry Park in LIC, Queens.

10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️
