Flo Rida at Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks pre-recording at Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City, Queens

This year my family and I are so lucky to have the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks literally in front of our house in LIC. We will have front row seats to one of the most spectacular American holidays of the year and we can’t wait to see the masses of people, the musicians and of course…the magical fireworks. Yesterday morning the stage for the concert was put up and in the evening we were so lucky to see Flo Rida during the pre-recording for the Macy’s Show on NBC on Saturday. Lucy, Jackie and I walked over and I took some photos of Flo Rida giving an amazing show. It was so much fun. So many families were out and dancing in front of the majestic New York skyline. I have to say, we feel very fortunate to live in this amazing community and neighborhood where we can just walk out of the house and see one of the biggest stars in the world perform in front of the Empire State and Chrysler Building. We can’t wait for the show on Saturday. Happy Independence Day everyone!!

Next year the World Cup will be held right here in the U.S. 8 games will be played in front of my house at MetLife Stadium.

Here’s the thing: this week only, the lottery opened for World Cup tickets. You can register for free to maybe get the chance to buy tickets. The lottery will close this Friday (October 31). The odds are long…like “hole-in-one in a hurricane” long.

So, dear friends, family...past and future couples, if you are not planning to go to the World Cup, I have one humble request:

I’ve photographed over 1,200 weddings…I’ve climbed rooftops and bridges, and made small miracles happen…but I’ve never seen a World Cup game in my life. And next year, it’s happening 10 minutes from my house!

And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement. Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot.
