The Beekman Hotel Wedding of Ashley & Scott | A New York City Elopement

The Beekman Hotel wedding of Ashley & Scott was in jeopardy for a hot second when the groom tore his ACL just one week before the wedding. Ouch! But as the trooper he is, Scott said: “The show must go on.” and so we met at the Beekman Hotel to get them hitched. Ashley’s friend Connie had flown in to perform a beautiful ceremony for the two of them. And after their “I Dos” it was time for Champagne and wedding photos. We started at the hotel as the Beekman has the most amazing inner courtyard that is ideal for photos. Afterwards we made our way to Dumbo and the Brooklyn Bridge Park where we ended our time together. Ashley & Scott, thank you so much for trusting me with your memories. It was such an honor to be part of your big day!

Die Hochzeit von Ashley & Scott im Beekman Hotel war für eine kurze Sekunde in Gefahr, als der Bräutigam, nur eine Woche vor der Hochzeit, seine ACL riss. Autsch! Aber Scott sagte nur: “The Show must go on.” und so trafen wir uns im Beekman Hotel um die Zwei zu trauen. Ashley’s Freundin Connie war eingeflogen, um eine ganz tolle Zeremonie für die beiden durchzuführen. Und nachdem die Zwei sich das Ja-Wort gegeben hatten war es Zeit für Champagner und Hochzeitsfotos. Wir fingen im Hotel an, da das Beekman einen fantastischen Innenhof hat, der ideal für Fotos ist. Danach machten wir uns auf den Weg nach Dumbo und zum Brooklyn Bridge Park, wo wir unsere gemeinsame Zeit beendeten. Ashley & Scott, vielen Dank, dass ich an eurem Hochzeitstag dabei sein durfte. Es war eine große Ehre, Teil  eures großen Tages zu sein!

20 years!!
7,305 days.
175,320 hours.
10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

Couples always ask me what happens if it rains on their wedding day. We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement. Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest. Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂
