Sneak Peek | Sergej + Victoria | Wedding Proposal in New York City

To say it with the words of John “Hannibal” Smith from the A-Team: “I love when a plan comes together!!!” This week I captured the unforgettable moment when Sergej proposed to his girlfriend (a.k.a. ‘future wife’) Victoria on the piers of Gantry State Park in Long Island City, Queens. Sergej and I only had a couple of days to plan this but it all came together beautifully. Victoria said ‘YES’ and both were so happy. After the proposal we spend some time together and took engagement photos with the New York Skyline in the background. I can’t wait so show you more of their session.

Ein perfekter Moment in Bilder festgehalten. Diese Woche durfte ich einen geheimen Heiratsantrag fotografieren. Sergej hat seiner zukünftigen Braut Victoria einen Antrag auf den Piers des Gantry State Park’s in Long Island City, Queens gemacht. Die Überraschung ist gelungen und sie hat ‘JA’ gesagt. Anschliessend haben wir noch ein paar Verlobungsbilder mit der New York Skyline im Hintergrund gemacht. Ich freue mich schon euch weitere Fotos von diesem tollen Paar zu zeigen.

Working on something new for our couples. And this one took a while to get right…

20 years!!
7,305 days.
175,320 hours.
10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement. Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest. Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂
