Sneak Peek | Kai & Neetje | Elope in NYC | Highline Park & Pier 17

Here is a little Sneak Peek of Kai and Neetje’s session from last night. These two lovebirds got married a couple weeks back in Germany and wanted to have their wedding photos taken during their vacation in New York City. It was a beautiful summer evening here in NYC and we started our shoot at Pier 17 down at the South Street Seaport, followed by a quick stop at the Highline Park and we ended the session right in the heart of Manhattan, Times Square. Neetje and Kai, you are an amazing couple. I had so much fun being around you guys. I can’t wait until we meet again…

Kai und Neetje haben vor ein paar Wochen in Deutschland geheiratet und wollten gerne ihre Hochzeitsfotos in New York fotografiert haben. An einem tollen Freitag Abend haben wir unsere Session am Pier 17 (South Street Seaport) begonnen. Von dort sind wir zum Highline Park gefahren und haben das Shooting im Times Square beendet. Wir hatten unglaublich viel Spass und ich freue mich jetzt schon wenn ich die Zwei wiedersehen darf.

7,305 days.
175,320 hours.
10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️
