The New York City Hall Wedding of Laura & John | Chrysler Building Wedding

Laura & John came over from England to get hitched in the ‘Big Apple’. John looked handsome in his suite and sneakers combo and Laura stunned in a drop-dead gorgeous vintage wedding gown. The weather wasn’t on our side but there is no such thing as bad weather when it comes to New York weddings. Equipped with an umbrella we conquered the concrete jungle and took photos at Grand Central Terminal, on the wet and reflecting streets of NYC, the Chrysler Building and of course in front of the New York Public Library. Laura and John, you rocked your wedding day! Thank you so much for making me a part of this special day!

Laura & John kamen den weiten Weg aus England um sich im ‘Big Apple’ das Ja-Wort zu geben. John trug einen dunklen Anzug mit Sneakers und Laura sah fantastisch aus in ihrem ‘vintage’ Hochzeitskleid. Das Wetter war leider nicht auf unserer Seite aber zum Glück gibt es in New York ja kein schlechtes Wetter zum heiraten. Ausgerüstet mit einem Regenschirm machten wir uns also auf den Weg durch die glitzernden Strassen von NYC. Wir fotografierten im Grand Central Terminal, vor dem Chrysler Building und gingen auch kurz zur New York Public Library. Laura und John, vielen Dank für den tollen Tag. Es hat mir unheimlich viel Spass gemacht mit euch!

175,320 hours.
10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️
