Your New York City Elopement Photographer

The New York Wedding of Angelica & Ryan | New York Elopement Photographer

English:
Being a New York Elopement Photographer is fun and rewarding. And when you work with a couple like Angelica and Ryan it is also very fulfilling. It was New Year’s Day, the first elopement of 2016,  and I met them while they were getting ready at my favorite hotel in the city, the Gramercy Park Hotel. There was so much love on their wedding day. And we sure needed that love to keep us warm because that day was the coldest day I had ever photographed a wedding on. It was freeeeezing while the wind was hauling over the Hudson River. But the single digits didn’t faze Angelica & Ryan at all. As you can see from the photos, they only had eyes for each other during Jackie’s ceremony. And so they braved the cold and tied the knot on Pier 45. After the ‘I Dos’ we had to defrost for a bit and stopped at a coffee shop where we drank some well deserved Irish Coffees. We finished our time together with wedding photos in the West Village. It was still cold but at least the building gave us some shelter from the freezing wind. Angelica and Ryan, I am so grateful for you guys. The day was perfect and shivering in the cold was well worth it because I was able to spent some time with you on your wedding day. Until we meet again…

20 years!!
7,305 days.
175,320 hours.
10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

If you made it to the end of this post, tell us how we know and met you. Because guess what…you are part of our story too. And we want to hear about it. Thank you for being an integral part of Team Reinking.

Couples always ask me what happens if it rains on their wedding day. And my answer always is: “Then we will have fun in the rain!!”. 🥰

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂
