Anya & Alex’s New York City Hall Elopement | Dumbo & Brooklyn Bridge Park Wedding

English:
Not every day do I photograph a Brooklyn Bridge Park wedding that started in a very unique way. Well, this is the story about a boy from England, Alex, who came to New York on vacation and stayed at a hostel in Brooklyn and a girl from Russia, Anya, who also came to New York on vacation and stayed at the same hostel in Brooklyn. And that is where Alex and Anya met for the first time. And that is also where they fell in love. Month later they came back to New York to, no surprise, get married in the city their love story started. And I was so fortunate that they asked me to document this special day for them. I met Alex and Anya at the City Clerk’s Office. After the ceremony we walked the streets of downtown Manhattan before we made our way across the Brooklyn Bridge for a couple wedding photos in Dumbo. It was a picture perfect day and the photos show how much these guys are in love. Alex & Anya, thank you for making me part of your story.

Working on something new for our couples. And this one took a while to get right…
20 years!!
7,305 days.
175,320 hours.
10,519,200 minutes.
And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

If you made it to the end of this post, tell us how we know and met you. Because guess what…you are part of our story too. And we want to hear about it. Thank you for being an integral part of Team Reinking.

Couples always ask me what happens if it rains on their wedding day. And my answer always is: “Then we will have fun in the rain!!”. 🥰

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂
