The surprise proposal of Büsra and Niklas at Gantry Park, Queens | Heiratsantrag in New York

Der Heiratsantrag !

The temperatures are rising in New York City so I thought it’s time to show a winter proposal with lots of snow. :) Meet Niklas and Büsra who got engaged on a gorgeous winter day in Gantry Park in Long Island City, Queens. You can see how much snow was on the ground when Niklas went down on one knee to ask Büsra to marry him. And Büsra said YES of course! After the proposal we walked around in the snow and took some engagement photos with the Empire State Building, the Gantries and the famous Pepsi Cola Sign. It was definitely a day to remember and I can’t wait to see what is next for Nikas and Büsra. Congratulations you two!!

Die Temperaturen steigen hier in New York und da dachte ich, dass ein Heiratsantrag im Winter genau das Richtige für diese Jahreszeit wäre. Niklas und Büsra haben sich an einem unglaublich tollen Wintertag im Gantry Park, Queens verlobt. An dem Tag war besonders viel Schnee auf dem Grund als Niklas auf sein Knie ging. Aber Büsra hat den Hochzeitsantrag natürlich überglücklich angenommen. Anschliessend haben wir dann noch ein paar Verlobungbilder vor dem Empire State Building, den Gantries und dem Pepsi Cola Schild gemacht. Ich bin gespannt was die Zukunft bringt für Nikas und Büsra. Herzlichen Glückwunsch noch mal ihr Zwei!

And around 631 million seconds of putting up with each other.

Today, exactly 20 years ago, I married my best friend. And I had no idea what the next 20 years would bring.

I love Jackie more today than ever. Which says a lot, because I already liked her quite a bit before. She is my best friend, my business partner, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with, and somehow the only human alive who can handle my grumpy moods. No really, that alone should win her an award or something.

When we met, I was still an architect and Jackie was a musical theater actor. Neither of us could have imagined that 20 years later we would be running our own wedding business together, celebrating love for a living, and helping over 1,200 couples create their own love stories.

We literally spend all our time together. Business, travel, life...and I still wake up every day wanting more of it. That is either true love or early signs of insanity. Probably both.

And to think it all started when I walked down the stairs at Bethesda Terrace and saw her sitting by the fountain…in those ugly pink pants. (Yes, they were that bad. Whole nother story. Ask me about it sometime.)

Twenty years later, we have built this wild, beautiful, unpredictable life together. There have been plot twists, bad haircuts, flight delays, lost luggage, and a whole lot of laughter. And I would not trade a single second of it.

Here is to the next 20 years of chaos, love, and whatever else we get ourselves into. ❤️

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement.

Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest.

Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂

We got paired with these two at our 6:54 AM tee time this morning @gallopinghillgolfcourse and right before we teed off, they mentioned they might stop to snap a quick photo for their pregnancy announcement. Well, what are the odds they got paired with a photographer? So in between bogeys and lost balls, we knocked out an impromptu mini photo shoot. First time for everything, and golf magic at its finest. Easily the best scorecard moment of the day. 😂
